About Dr. Vande Ven
Dr. Heather Vande Ven is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and specializes in procedures of the breast and body at our Bakersfield location.
She studied biology at Colorado State University and earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University. She completed her general surgery residency at Lutheran and Palisades Medical Centers, serving as chief resident, followed by a cosmetic surgery fellowship at Hamilton Surgical Arts in Indiana and a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where she helped the program become the first D.O. plastic surgery program in the nation to earn ACGME accreditation.
Dr. Vande Ven is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association.
